The 2022 Asian games in Hangzhou China will be the first big event that will feature esports as a medal sport. The games are the second largest event outside the Olympics that feature 10,000 athletes and 39 sports.

The Olympic Council of Asia made the decision to include the games and to feature a demo of how it will look like in the 2018 games. This will join other sports including archery, badminton, and bowling.

So far, the popular soccer game FIFA is the only confirmed esports game that will be featured, but other multiplayer games including Counter-Strike and League of Legends may be featured.

More information about the sport will be available as the game gets closer. Check ESO.com for future updates about the games that will be included in the demo of the 2018 games.
